Woman Scream goal:

Our mission is to honor women and create a conscious call against women violence through artistic expressions during the whole month of March.

People interested in coordinating a WS event in their communities, just need to request and follow some simple guidelines, and make an event any day between 1st to 31st of march (For obvious reasons, no events out of date are allowed).

Additional artists such as: Painters, musicians, performance, actors, dancers, etc, can join freely, as long as their presentations doesn’t attend against morality or affects our movement’s public image. Always remember our goal is to honor women and their importance into society.

    • (Coordinators decide who can participate according to their programs and they are responsible for the quality of the contents presented. MPI does not chooses participants for the events, however, we may suggest any.) .
    • We use themes for the festival to guarantee a proper message is delivered.

¿Who can coordinate festival's events?

Any person, group or institution who wishes to join the cause and that commits to fulfill some simple guidelines to ensure the success of the chain

If you want to be part of this cause please request Woman Scream guidelines. Our previous coordinators have preference over new solicitors, so make sure to include your city and country when you write to us, to check availability.

A little history

Woman Scream (Grito de Mujer) was created in 2011, by the Dominican poetess Jael Uribe.  It is call from the Dominican Republic to the world, by Mujeres Poetas Internacional MPI, Inc, (the Women Poets International Movement) as a way to support talented female writers and artists into they international promotion. Grito de Mujer is also a brand that includes different projects and ideas to benefit non violence against women and women self-esteem campaigns.

Woman Scream represents a socially viable and direct way of using poetry and arts in order to bring encouragement to women and injecting doses self-respect to women all ages. Woman Scream is considered a platform for women's participation but, we allow men as well. We believe we are all part of this social mission to fight women violence together.

Woman Scream allows MPI’s followers and collaborators, specially women, to become Goodwill Ambassadors and/or event's coordinators, as a way to encourage leadership role in those representatives of the organization, that way, the festival becomes a more human chain, that touches consciences one person at a time.
